Oh man, I'm so glad I checked my old email address else I wouldn't know that Everything Viet still exist. Thanks, Lady Dragon, for not forgetting me.

Well, first I must apologize for pulling a disappearing act many months ago when this forum was known as Everything Viet. I went through a major personal issue, which pretty much made me an anti-social...even virtually. So anyway, I am thrilled to be back. Since I left you guys hanging, I have seen many many good and mediocre films. Of course Brokeback is on the list as well as Transamerica, Constant Gardener, Crash, March of the Penguins, The New World, and older ones like Hotel Rwanda. I'll be sure to contribute in the entertainment section.

It feels so good to be back Laughing

In my excitement in being back, I completely forgot about how to better improve the site or how to drive more traffic to the site. My recommendation is words-of-mouth. I'm sure everyone here knows someone who is looking for a forum for pure entertainment or a venue to express his/herself. To me, personal invitations are a lot more credible than a blast email to all the folks you have in your address book. I think this forum has a lot going for it: great people with great thoughts to share.

Happy B-Day!!! Cake

Hi Tygol,
Let me be the first to welcome you back. Very Happy

Stay around this time. You are among those that were considered "the originals".

Then every member had better get their mouths working and go off and argue (I mean talk, not argue - though it's ok to twist a few arms if need be.) wink

BTW, several people did offer to send $$ contributions, for which I thank them very much. The problem is, not one cent has been forthcoming... Did the generous people in question forget? Only one asked me again recently to remind her of the amount to send. The latter depends on the individual member's generosity, starting with $5 up to $10 or $15 if you really feel expansive. Very Happy

Haha, very funny, X! Rolling Eyes

FYI, most countries pay their dues promptly at the UN - except the US and, at the other end of the spectrum, the poorest countries. If they're too much behind in their payments, their voting rights at the General Assembly are suspended (and they don't want to lose THAT), so they know they'd better fork out the bucks!! super grin

Anyway, contributions to this site are not mandatory, just useful and (when they are coming in) very much appreciated. Smile

Oh my, I was looking at our "Announcements" and realized that this one, about our first anniversary, is almost a year old. In a few weeks, we'll begin the Second Anniversary "celebration".

What's sad is that we seem to have lost active members during the year. Apart from Saigonnais's brief visit over the holidays, this site would be dead without Seed and Pols, with a little help from Doan_Du and Dzu and very brief visits by Mimosa, Bé Hi', Couch Potato and VY, and a few guests - some of those guests trying to market products or steer the unwary member to porn sites at that!

I'd like to know what became of X, Enornymous, Tygol, NP, BlueMystic, Pemberley, Tiger (who only made a very brief appearance) and others who were quite active?

On the plus side, we did get a few new members, to whom we bid a very hearty welcome. wave hello goodbye

I'd also like more suggestions. I guess you're all busy, but if there are topics or themes that you'd like to discuss and see more of, let us know. We aim to please. Very Happy

Step up, guys and gals, let's end our second year and start our third with an active, interesting, lively site! very happy
