Phew!!

Michele Bachmann's Been Talking To God And He Doesn't Want Her To Run For The Senate
Bachmann said she prayed, listened to God and didn't received any call to take a shot at Senator Al Franken's old seat.
by C.paton

Updated | Michele Bachmann had been doing the rounds suggesting she might take another shot at Congress following the departure of Al Franken from the Senate—but after consulting her creator she’s decided not to.

Bachmann, who ran for president in 2012 and served in the house as a Representative for Minnesota from 2007-2015, told radio host Jan Markell she had ruled out of running the seat after finding she didn’t have any “sense from the Lord” over the issue.

“I had a lot of people contacting me, people wanting to give me money and be a part of my team to run for a campaign,” Bachmann said. “But what I did is I did what I have done on every other time I thought about running—I took it to the Lord in a very quiet way, I took it before the Lord, I prayed, I tried to have my ears open and hear what God was saying to me.“

"It became very clear to me that I wasn't hearing any call from God to do this," she added.

Franken stepped down from his position in the Senate at the start of the year over sexual misconduct allegations. A number of women accused the Democratic Senator of inappropriate touching at a series of political events.

Minnesota Public Radio reported Bachman said as late as January that she still hadn’t ruled out running. “The question is should it be me, should it be now? But there's also a price to pay. The price is bigger than ever because the swamp is so toxic," she said.

Earlier in the year a billboard appeared in St. Paul Minnesota in which a cartoon God told Bachman not to run.

Following Franken’s departure Minnesota Lt. Governor Tina Smith was sworn in to replace him. She has said she will run in a special election in November to finish the last two years of his term.

Minneapolis attorney Nick Leonard has said he will contest the seat on a Democratic ticket, with Republican state Senator Karin Housley also running for the seat.

CNN host to GOP candidate: 'Are you a Nazi?'
Arthur Jones, the self-described ex-leader of the American Nazi Party, is a Republican candidate for an Illinois seat in Congress.
Watch testy exchange »

https://youtu.be/sI50FRztBa8

A Republican candidate for an Illinois seat in Congress on Thursday openly denied the Holocaust and said, “You jews media, you’ve gone absolutely nuts,” during an appearance on CNN’s “New Day.”

Arthur Jones, the self-described former leader of the American Nazi Party, called the Holocaust a “scam” and an “extortion racket” as “New Day” host Alisyn Camerota challenged him. Jones, the sole Republican in the race for Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District, is set to capture the party’s nomination in the March primary election.

Camerota aired footage of an unhinged Jones speech at a neo-Nazi event, then posed a blunt question.

“Mr. Jones, It is shocking to hear how vocally and unapologetically racist you are. Are you a Nazi?”

Jones said he doesn’t call himself a Nazi because he has not formally been involved with Nazi organizations for the last “15, 20 years.”

“I call myself an American patriot and statesman,” he said.

Jones is challenging Rep. Daniel Lipinski (D), and has been denounced by the Illinois Republican Party and National Republican Congressional Committee.

“You’ve been part of anti-Semitic groups since the 1970s,” Camerota told him. “You’re part of the White People’s Party. You dress in Nazi garb, you celebrate Hitler’s birthday.

“You’re a Nazi.”

Camerota went on to say that Jones’ website ― which includes a section that calls Holocaust survivors peddlers of “propaganda” ― is “filled with the most vile, rancid rhetoric I think I’ve ever read.”

“It’s not vile and rancid, it’s the truth,” Jones replied.

“There’s nothing on that website that’s not true,” he continued. “You jews media, you’ve gone absolutely nuts. You think that Adolf Hitler’s revived from the grave or something. It’s one man, myself, that’s standing for the truth.”

Jones continued his rant, calling the Holocaust “poppycock,” a “scam,” and an “extortion racket” as Camerota read cold, hard facts about the Nazi genocide.

The argument went on for several minutes before Camerota tied it up with a prediction about Jones’ political future.

“You have a long track record of losing,” she told him. “You lose virtually everything that you run for. You’ve run for Congress and you’ve lost, for mayor, for alderman. And we’re not in the business of predicting the news, but I can say that you will lose this race. You couldn’t win dog catcher.”

“Chances are, you’ll go down in flames,” she said.

Many people on social media remarked about Camerota’s handling of Jones:

Alisyn Camerota is interviewing the Nazi running for congress in Illinois on CNN right now and it is ... something.

@OBrien_Kat
Chilling to listen to this man spew hateful bile and be in line to win state primary. Strong work by Alisyn Camerota on @NewDay in challenging him directly.

@CeeLeeMusic
I’m a child of Holocaust survivors. Watching Alisyn Camerota interview Nazi Arthur Jones was bone chilling.

He denies the Holocaust. Says we’re “a Jew Party system.”

Another one of Trump’s very fine people, AND a Republican running for IL Congress.

Alisyn Camerota on @CNN and @NewDay told that Nazi denier running for office (not even worth mentioning his name) off and it was awesome! 👊🏻

Well I'm flabbergasted that he is running at all! if as she says and the Republicans have denounced him what ticket is he running under again? How can he run as a Republican Party nominee when they have all denounced him? If the rank and file Republicans nominate him then that is really disgusting. Surely someone else in that district will stand against him for that party? If not I hope he gets no votes and the Democrat candidate romps home with a huge win...

Only some of them have denounced him, and he IS running under the Republican ticket.

See in the article about his tv interview, and this is not the only instance where it says that he is running for the Republican seat in Illinois:

I agree with you that it is flabbergasting that he is running at all. He's even worse than Le Pen père in France. one

You Jews media! The Holocaust is an extortion racket!' Anti-Semite running unopposed for Congress has a meltdown after being confronted for being a Nazi

* Arthur J. Jones, 70, of Lyons, Illinois, is the sole candidate in the Republican primary for the 3rd Congressional District on March 20

* Jones - a known Holocaust denier, white supremacist and anti-Semite - is a former member of the American National Socialist Workers Party

* He appeared on CNN Thursday where Alisyn Camerota confronted him saying: 'Your website is filled with the most vile, rancid rhetoric I think I've ever read'

* 'It is shocking to hear how vocally and unapologetically racist you are. Are you a Nazi?' she asked

* He responded with a racist tirade about 'you jews media' before admitting he denied the Holocaust, calling it 'an extortion racket'

* Jones' campaign website, images show him speaking at KKK and neo-Nazi events, and was seen giving a Nazi salute and shredding a flag of Israel

* Jones will likely face either Representative Dan Lipinski, D-III, or his challenge in the Democratic primary, Marie Newman

It's as bad as having that pedophile Moore running for Senate and thank gawd he lost. Ironic isn't it that he was beaten by a man named Jones and here we have another Jones who is a racist nazi running with no opponents for the Republicans. Surely they could rustle up someone else or do they think they have no chance of winning anyway so they couldn't be bothered? Confused

Dog Running as a Republican in Kansas Governor Race Has Bid Rejected
By Harriet Sinclair

A dog’s application to run in the Kansas gubernatorial race has been rejected, despite his owner insisting he has all the qualities necessary to be a governor.

An application submitted on behalf of Angus the wire-haired Vizsla suggested the three-year-old pooch would run as a Republican, but was turned down by the Kansas Secretary of State's Office, which told the Associated Press a dog could not carry out the role.

Angus’s owner Terran Woolley filed the paperwork for his beloved pet over the weekend, after reading about a rule that saw six teenagers apply for the race, because there were no guidelines stipulating a lower age limit for candidates.

On investigating the situation, Woolley discovered there was also nothing barring animals from entering the race, although his attempt to prove it was possible for a dog to take up the mantle of governor was thwarted before it got off the ground.

“I do believe he is a caring, nurturing individual who cares about the best for humanity and all creatures, other than squirrels,” Woolley told AP of his pet and former gubernatorial hopeful Angus.

Officials are currently discussing the possibility of introducing age restrictions to the election after the teenagers—who cannot yet vote—announced their candidacy.

Teens between 16 and 18 years old currently make up about a third of the entrants for the race, NPR reported, prompting the introduction of a bill that would bar under 18s from running for state office, although it would not affect the 2018 race.

“If you are an adult in the eyes of government at age 18, you can serve in the military, you can do just about anything you want,” Republican Representative Blake Carpenter, who introduced the bill, told the Kansas City Star.

“As of right now, inmates can run. I also saw reports of people saying that cats and dogs could run,” he added, in a comment that would surely have been appreciated by Angus.
