I made a new video in Bill's memory. I used as base a French folk song, modifying some of the verses (like I did for "Summer Kisses Winter Tears"). It's in French, but I'm providing a translation. Very Happy

Stacey, this time you can't complain that there aren't enough pictures of me and of Bill!! shameless grin

https://vimeo.com/127988649

Here are the lyrics, with translation.

The frst thing I changed is the first verse.

In my father's garden, the lilacs are in bloom) - which became

In my Fairfield garden, the lilacs are in bloom
All the birds in the world come and nest there

Next to my man, how good, how good how good it is
Next to my love [my Billy], how good it is to sleep

All the birds in the world come and nest there
The quail, the turtle dove and the pretty partridge

Chorus

The quail, the turtle dove and the pretty partridge
And the white dove that sings day and night

Chorus

It sings for the girls who don't have a husband
It doesn't sing much for me, coz I have a pretty good one

Chorus

(bis)
Oh tell us my beauty, where is your husband?
He's in Holland, the Dutch took him)
My version: Il est parmi les anges, le bon Dieu me l'a pris
He's with the angels, the good Lord took him from me

Chorus

Que donneriez-vous belle, pour ravoir votre mari? (bis)
Je donnerais Versailles, Paris et Saint-Denis
What would you give, my beauty, to have your hustband back?
I would give Versailles, Paris and Saint-Denis
[Saint-Denis is the cathedral where all the Kings of France are buried]

Chorus

I would give Versailles, Paris and Saint-Denis
The towers of Notre-Dame, the bell towers of my country

Next to my man, how good, how good how good it is
Next to my love [my Billy], how good it is to sleep [foerever, implied in the picture]

Note where now it is sweet to sleep next to my Billy.... I almost changed the last line (the towers, the steeples) to "I'd give my very life" but I refrained. The churches and bll towers are more fun, especially as, after the pic of Paris' Notre-Dame, I put up a pic of Saigon's Notre-Dame cathedral, and the "bell towers of my country" became a pagoda. Makes sense, no? super grin

Another one of your masterpieces, Wildflower! ten

I love it, it's very touching and beautiful. My eyes actually misted on "Le bon Dieu me l'a pris". The last picture before the end, though. You're not thinking of going to sleep by Bill's side NOW - or any time soon, are you?

Merci, Minh Chau !

Admin's translation: How beautiful and moving this is! Bill was lucky to have such a talented wife! It brought tears to my eyes!

Thank you, MC!

Thanks, everybody. But Mimi, having a talented wife didn't do him much good, did it? Personally, I'd rather have less talent and have him still with me, and I'm sure he feels the same way. cry me a river

... is in the crying. Crying or Very sad

You made people cry with your first Memorial video, you're making them cry now with this one.

You can't bring Bill back, but you can keep his memory alive.

You ARE very talented, dear! ten

Our mutual friend Nicole, who's not a member of AV, asked me to convey this to you:
