That is a very disturbing report for the US...dead people making comments and probably even doing postal votes etc.... Boy am I glad I don’t live in the US which seems to slowly becoming a ‘nanny state’ and controlled much the same way as Russia and other countries which are under dictatorship are... The thing is that control is loosening up in many of those countries but in the US is tightening up...Most disturbing....

Feds: Man Threatened to Kill CNN Employees Over ‘Fake News’

A Michigan man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to “gun down” CNN employees at the network’s Atlanta headquarters over “fake news,” WGCL-TV reports. The man, who has not been identified, is said to have made 22 calls to the news network about a week ago, sparking an FBI investigation. He allegedly told a CNN operator he was traveling to Georgia to “gun you all down” after repeatedly accusing the network of broadcasting “fake news”—a phrase made popular by President Trump. “I’m smarter than you. More powerful than you. I have more guns than you. More manpower. Your cast is about to get gunned down in a matter of hours,” the man is quoted as saying in federal court documents. Federal investigators traced the man’s calls and arrested him before he was able to carry out any of his alleged threats.

Europe Thinks It Can Stop Fake News
Europe Launches a Futile Battle to Bottle Fake News
Britain has its hit team, France has proposed a new law, and the pope invokes the problem of original sin. But case by case, how do you parse the real news from the fake?
BY Nico Hines

LONDON—The British prime minister is set to unleash a unit of tech wizards to battle and destroy fake news, the French president has simply declared that henceforth fake news will be illegal—but only during elections. Perhaps the European leader with the most workable framework for deterrence is Pope Francis. On Wednesday, he raised the possibility of eternal damnation for those who peddled the stuff.

In an annual message to mark the feast of St. Francis de ‎Sales, the patron saint of journalists, Pope Francis pinned much of the blame on journalists themselves who, he says, gorge on falsehoods “amid feeding frenzies and the mad rush for a scoop.” (Happy St. Francis de Sales feast day to you too, Your Holiness.)

Distilling the anger heard from the Élysée Palace and Downing Street to the White House, Pope Francis said this was a matter of good vs. “the deceptive power of evil that moves from one lie to another.”

If fake news writers, instigators and disseminators are not quieted by the words of the Vatican they will have the governments of France and Britain to contend with.

It is far from clear, however, exactly how Theresa May and Emmanuel Macron plan to stem the tide of disinformation.

Over the past week, government aides in London have briefed newspapers that a National Security Communications Unit within the Cabinet Office will be tasked with tackling fake news spread online by state actors and private citizens.

They have intimated that the security services will be involved but refuse to disclose any further information about how they will grapple with one of the most pressing issues of our age. Officials in the Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Defense, which is also believed to be involved in the program, decline to share any further details.

Study: Fake News Spreads Faster Than Real News on Twitter

A new study conducted by researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has found that fake news stories spread much faster on Twitter than real news—and humans are to blame for their circulation, not bots. “I find it disturbing,” Sinan Aral, who co-authored the study, told CNN. The study, which Aral conducted along with researchers Soroush Vosoughi and Deb Roy, was published by Science magazine Thursday and relied on 12 years of Twitter data. The main takeaway was that fake news stories “diffused significantly farther, faster, deeper, and more broadly than the truth in all categories of information,” Aral said. True news stories took about six times longer to reach 1,500 people on Twitter than hoax stories, according to the study. The researchers initially thought bots might be to blame for the rapid spread of fake news, but they quickly found that even with bots removed from their analysis, hoaxes still spread at the same rate. They have called for more “large-scale research” into the propagation of fake news in order to come up with “potential cures.”
