I wasn't sure whether to post this in Politix or here....

A guy looked at my Harley and said I wonder how many people could have been fed for the money that motorcycle cost.

I replied I am not sure, it fed a lot of families in Milwaukee, Wisconsin who built it, it fed the people who make the tires, it fed the people who made the components that went into it, it fed the people in the copper mine who mined the copper for the wires, it fed people in Decatur Il. at Caterpillar who make the trucks that haul the copper ore. I guess I really don't know how many people it fed.

That is the difference between capitalism and welfare mentality. When you buy something, you put money in people’s pockets, and give them dignity for their skills. When you give someone something for nothing, you rob them of their dignity and self worth.

Capitalism is freely giving your money in exchange for something of value.

Socialism is taking your money against your will and shoving something down your throat that you never asked for.

When you are in the cold and starving, dignity and self worth is the last thing on most people's mind.

The Viet refugees should know this well. There was nothing of dignity and self worth when they jam packed in small boats, dodged the Thai low lives and begged the world to take them in.

Surely different mentality. Especially those who have forgotten the past.

There is nothing undignified about receiving help when it is a matter of life or death... It is a matter of survival so there is no shame in receiving a helping hand to get started. Remember a lot of people have had to flee war torn countries with nothing much at all especially if their homes have been destroyed....
